Malrun is a Danish Progressive Metal outfit, and Two Thrones is their 3rd release. Malrun’s prior work received plenty of positive accolades, mainly for the band’s diverse writing style that fully utilizes all definitions of “Progressive Metal.” The band again invokes the production talents of Jacob Hansen, who has made his mark most notably with Volbeat – if you’re familiar with that band then you have a pretty good idea of what “pushing the limits of Progressive Metal” can actually mean. There’s great musicianship, catchy melodies, clean vocals, growls, and simple soundscapes coupled with the complex … definitely worth your time.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
