Age Of Artemis is Progressive Metal band out of Brazil that formed in 2008, and The Waking Hour is their sophomore release. Brazil is famous for precision-sharp Power Metal, largely established and perfected by the hugely successful band Angra. The Waking Hour shows elements of “classic” Brazil Progressive Power Metal, but tends to lean more towards thoughtful melodies in the place of speed and musical precision, and offers lyrics that are more melancholy than uplifting. The album starts out very promising with “Under The Sun” and “Broken Bridges,” but disappointingly looses momentum, making this album better entitled The Sleeping Hour.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
