Powerstroke is a Belgium band, and In For A Penny, In For A Pound is their 3rd release to date. Powerstroke blends an interesting mix of Thrash, (light) Hardcore, Progressive, and Stoner Metal into their soundscape, which keeps the album interesting. Virtually all of the tracks come through with their own personality and uniqueness despite the monotonous growls of vocalist Jonathon Matthijs, which, if shit-canned, would have resulted in a stellar Progressive Thrash album (with certain Stoner elements). Regardless, In For A Penny, In For A Pound was well-written and well-produced, and is certainly worth your time to check out.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
