Darker Half is a young, 4-piece band hailing from Sydney, Australia, and Never Surrender is their 3rd release to date. These blokes play Melodic Metal with apparent Traditional, Progressive, and Power Metal influences, which give many of their songs a solid sense of urgency and aggression. The band has all of the ingredients to be a success … Vo Simpson has a smooth voice with plenty of range, often coming through as a cross between Geoff Tate and King Diamond. The album could benefit from a few catchy choruses or big hooks, but nonetheless, Never Surrender contains high quality Metal.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
