Mastodon, out of Atlanta, USA, have produced 5 full length albums prior to this release, their 6th, entitled Once More ‘Round The Sun.  The band has evolved over the years, originating more in the vein of a Hardcore outfit, to their current state, which is still aggressive, but more Melodic and “Classic,” if you will.  During their regime, Mastodon has gained tons of respect and a major league recording contract, and has built a “sophisticated” fan base as a result.  There’s plenty to sink your teeth into with Once More ‘Round The Sun, albeit fans of old may be disappointed.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
