Dust Bolt is a four-piece Thrash band out of Germany, and Awake The Riot is their sophomore release; a very aggressive and fast album straddling the line between true Thrash and Hardcore, though never truly crossing over. The great thing about this new release is you can hear and “feel” the band’s hunger and passion for what they do and their musical brand … reminiscent of the early Slayer and Testament albums. What’s not so great is the relative similarity between many of the tracks – occasionally there are gleaming lights of originality, but the drawback is there are too few.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
