Black Stone Cherry is a Kentucky, USA-based Hard Rock band, and Magic Mountain is their 4th release amid impressive commercial success thus far in their careers. Their style is a mix of Modern Hard Rock and Neo-Grunge with a few slight hints of Southern Rock. All in all, Black Stone Cherry “nails it” with this latest release. There are 13 tracks, and except for 1 that delves into the Country & Western genre, the rest all shine. Chris Robertson fits the Modern Hard Rock mold sound-wise, but basically this is just a laid back, cool band knocking out cool songs.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
