Jackie Slaughter’s Skull Fist from Canada was formed in 2006, and has at times been labeled a New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal band … essentially indicating they are riding the wave of modern era bands opting to replicate/preserve what the NWOBHM bands accomplished back in the ‘80s. The name Skull Fist sounds very “traditional” if not Thrashy, however, Chasing The Dream is more of a Melodic Metal derivative, and Slaughter’s vocal approach is more Hair Metal than Traditional. The bottom line is IT WORKS, and this release is comprised of 9 quality, energetic Melodic-Traditional-Hair Metal (take your pick) tracks.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
