USA-bred Alter Bridge has released its 4th studio album entitled Fortress.  The band plays a unique form of Modern Metal … the main difference between Alter Bridge and the rest of the pack is their appreciation and inclusion of extended musical jams and solos.  After all, most Modern Metal bands tend to keep the music simple and direct while opting to be lyrically intensive.  Myles Kennedy is a talented modern era vocalist, but the band knows when to put him in the back seat to let the dynamics of the album flow, resulting in the band’s best work to date.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
