Italian-based Voodoo Highway was formed in 2010, and Showdown is their 2nd release. Sometimes called The New Deep Purple, Voodoo Highway plays a form of Melodic/Hard Rock while attempting to infiltrate Classic Rock elements found back in the ‘70s. Unfortunately, trying to be a “Modern Day Classic Rock Band” can be an unachievable goal because today’s recording techniques and equipment simply can’t replicate that wonderful warmth found in Deep Purple’s “Child In Time” or Led Zeppelin’s “Dazed And Confused”. Voodoo Highway makes a commendable attempt at sounding dated yet fresh, however, the second half of the album falters on both.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
