Although there have been many new breeds of veteran super-groups bearing the flag of the ’80s, not all of them have been successful and some even brought dishonor to Metal’s finest hour. However, that’s not the case at all with Consfearacy (not to be confused with the Thrash / Death Polish act by the same name). Consfearacy was forged by the hands of two Americans and three Germans. The main leaders were ex-Vicious Rumors vocalist, Brian O’Connor, and the guitarist of German Hard Rock fame, Fabian Schwartz. The turnout from this wicked union is one of the best Metal assaults heard in a while. If you are a fan of Metal Church, Vicious Rumors, Annihilator, Exodus, and Heathen, you have just found yourself a new sweet spot. Consfearacy, with an orientation to the ’80s, focuses their entire experience on mixing American Thrash, Power Metal, and Traditional Metal under the same roof, and they play with high standard technical sense.

The band’s self-titled debut album was mixed and produced by the group along with the mastering of German producer Achim Koehler. Therefore, you might expect a rough ride through anger, socialism, destruction, conspiracy, and almost anything else that bothers society nowadays. In short, this debut album is an amazing success. It captures some of the strongest and oldest dimensions in Metal and spits them out with such perfect finesse.

In a broader examination, the material on this album presents many of the main reasons why anyone should be a Metalhead in the first place. Besides having almost everything going for them musically, apart from the extreme lines of the genre, this album has energies that numerous veteran groups (or super-groups) lack. Furthermore, it can be safely claimed that the track list contains nothing banal, mostly because both the lead and rhythm sections play to a certain technical level that won’t let anyone down… and certainly won’t portray something that is virtually soulless. The awesome riffs work along the lines of aggressive US Power Metal / Thrash. There are cruel melodies and harmonies, diverse drumming, and made-to-perfection vocal lines that range between raspy and smooth/clean voice patterns. All of these are the undying features that lead this group to rank among the stars… and there are more than a few tunes that will surely leave you satisfied.
