Classic Shred guitarist Ethan Brosh has been busy lately. After having appeared alongside Joel Hoekstra on Michael Sweet’s acclaimed solo album One Sided War, Brosh got back to work putting the finishing touches on his third studio album: Conspiracy.

This generous 14 track collection of Brosh’s signature brand of 80s inspired shred has all of the Lynch and MacAlpine vibes that we’ve come to expect from him, along with top level production quality; another characteristic typical of his releases. While Brosh’s style has been remarkable consistent since his debut, over the years his playing has developed an effortless fluidity that is second to none. Tracks like “By Hook Or By Crook” and “Collision Course” highlight this to great effect. In addition to those tracks, Conspiracy has a number of other highlights. “Tomb Of The Gods” features the darkest riffs of the album as well as a guest solo by Steel Panther’s own 80s shred master, Satchel. “No Spring Chicken” delivers a fun, shred shuffle style along with some of Brosh’s most intense playing.

Conspiracy could be Brosh’s best and most consistent release to date, and it is surely a new, easy favorite for fans of the Classic Shred genre. If there’s any downside to this album, it’s that Brosh seems to limit his influences to a relatively narrow set of players, with very little coming from any of the contemporary greats. That being said, there is no questioning Brosh’s skill or dedication to the style.
