It took a long time for this album to follow in the footsteps of their EP with the same name, and the reason is that this album was recorded two years ago already, but is only now available via Massacre records.

If you don’t know the band, don’t let the cover art fool you. What looks like it may be tending towards extreme metal is merely a disguise for excellent power metal with great hooks. But that is only the base from which Vanish starts. With every song the fathom different waters, dipping a little into death metal or looking into the melodic metal corner, changing between clear vocals and growls, sometimes even thrash shouts, but never forgetting the importance of the melody.

A good part of the praise for this album goes to singer Bastian Rose, who is able to perform all the above convincingly. Come To Wither is a dramatic, powerful album which will surely be loved by fans of Savatage, Brainstorm or Rage. As an appetizer the tracks ‘This Is How We Die’ and ‘The Grand Design’ are highly recommended.

So dragons are fine, all kinds of monsters are, cats, too, of course, just no Pandas. Sorry.
