Great Band At A Tiny Club

Sometimes some of the most fun shows are at the tiniest clubs, and when Medford, Oregon’s very own Heavy Metal veterans Emissary came to town, it was one of those nights. When you first walk in, you’d never even know there is a show about to happen as the stage is in a rather tiny back room with a few booths, pool tables and a very small stage. Fortunately it’s all about the music and not the venue, as Emissary proved on a Sunday night in Portland, Oregon.

The cool thing is that Emissary has been around for over 30 years, and the lineup today contains most of their “classic” lineup members including the founders vocalist Jym Harris and guitar player Tim Dahlen, and bassist Peter Shawn Kinney. Add new guitarist Charlie Francipane and drummer Tony Mullins to the mix and you have a powerful band that takes you back to the early 90s, while at the same time adds enough modern flair to satisfy any Power Metal fan.

The Wretched Masquerade Live

Emissary is on the road supporting their new album on Underground Power Records titled The Wretched Masquerade. Fans were treated to several of the bands classic tunes, as they hit the stage with energy and vitality you’d expect from a younger group of guys. The songs were super tight, and the sounds were great as they tore it up for the eager metal heads who couldn’t get enough. The dual guitars were razor tight, the rhythm section was solid as a rock, as vocalist Jym Harris added the icing on the Heavy Metal cake that the crowd was craving, and thoroughly enjoyed.

One thing is for sure, Emissary hasn’t lost a step, and if they can give so much energy to a small group of fans in a tiny little bar, just think of what they can do with a larger crowd. If you get a chance to catch Emissary live, it’s well worth the effort, and you’ll be glad you did.

Emissary is:

Jym Harris – Lead Vocals
Tim Dahlen – Guitar / Vocals
Charlie Francipane – Guitar
Peter Shawn Kinney – Bass / Vocals
Tony Mullins – Drums
