What do you get when you pair Trixter guitarist Steve Brown with Danager Danger vocalist Ted Poley? You get Tokyo Motor Fist! Steve and Ted have known each other since before their respective bands hit the ’80s rock scene. With Trixter and Danger Danger on hiatus, it made sense for the two to pair up, while also bringing bassist Greg Smith and drummer Chuck Burgi into the mix. Tokyo Motor Fist released their debut self-titled album in 2017 on Frontiers Records. TMF’s follow-up Lions was released on July 10, 2020. Metal Express Radio caught up with Steve Brown for a long and engaging interview.

Lions (2020) Mini-Review
Tokyo Motor Fist’s Lions is everything you loved about ‘80s Hard Rock and Metal. Multi-part harmonies, indulgent guitar work, and catchy choruses are plentiful. Songs of rebellion, youthful exuberance, bucking the system, and not having a care in the world will certainly bring the listener back to a time when the world didn’t seem so complicated. Of course there’s a couple of great power ballads thrown in for good measure. You wouldn’t think that one band could sound like all of the bands that each member has been a part of, but TMF does. 8.5/10 – George Dionne
