Rock The Highway is the second release from Sikkim, India based Hard Rock band Girish And The Chronicles. Formed in 2009, GATC has become one of India’s premier rock bands. While they are billed as a modern Hair Metal styled band, Girish And The Chronicles have much more to offer.

Grish Pradhan, vocalist and guitarist, immediately calls to mind a young Sebastian Bach. His vocal range and power is showcased throughout Rock The Highway. Lead guitarist Suraz Karki captures the essence of Hair Metal style and flash but carries it into some very modern chops as well. The entire band turn in impressive performances on the record. The rest of the band includes Yogesh Pradhan, bass guitar, Nagen Mongranti, drums, and Krishh Datta, keyboard.

Rock The Highway starts off with the title track, a pretty straightforward 80s influenced Rock anthem that stands tall on its own. But the record goes deep into Melodic territory and even has some progressive elements. “Wounded” is a great example of a very modern, Progressive infused track. “The Distance Between” is a killer Hair Metal ballad. “The Sikkamese Dream”, track five, is where Rock The Highway begins to diverge from its 80s Metal course. It has a bit of an Asian flavor, and some Steve Vai experimental sounding guitar themes.

Rock The Highway has a palette of flavors within the Metal genres to sample, and each track has something to offer. Fans of Hair Metal, Melodic Metal, and Progressive Metal should give GATC a listen.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
