This Friday’s Guest DJs: HOLYCIDE

The origins of HOLYCIDE can be found back in 2004, when Dave Rotten (Avulsed) wanted to start up a Thrash Metal project. The intention, from the very beginning, was to create a very aggressive kind of Thrash. But it took a whole decade until HOLYCIDE became a full-blooded metal band. That led to  first EP entitled Toxic Mutation to be released in February 2015.

Two years later debut full-length album Annihilate… Then Ask! was released. As a sequence to that HOLYCIDE was busy playing live shows during 2017-2019, presenting their new album and sharing stage with bands like FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, ONSLAUGHT, D.R.I., HELSTAR, EXUMER, TRALLERY, ASOMVEL, NO RETURN, GOD DETHRONED, ALKOHOLIZER and many others. At the same time, a new album was being written. The second full-length album Fist to Face was released in early 2020.

This week HOLYCIDE’s Salva Esteban (guitars) hosts the Friday Guest DJ Show.

Tune in at 15:00 and 21:00 CET/ 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. EST this Friday to hear the show!

While you wait check out the official lyric video for “Trapped by the Crappy Trap”:

  • Stig G. Nordahl

Stig is the founder and the president of Metal Express Radio, based out of Oslo, Norway. He has been around doing Metal radio since the mid-eighties. In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of his time. Is it worth it...? "Most times, yes," Stig says. "My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express Radio part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right..."
