Pride is the third release from German Power Metal band The Unity. Formed in 2016, The Unity features Gianbattista Manenti on vocals, Michael Ehre on drums, Henjo Richter and Stef E on guitar, Jogi Sweers on bass and Sascha Onnen on keys.

Pride is a well-produced, great-sounding record that offers a pretty eclectic mix of stylistic variation. Songs like “Hands Of Time” and “Line And Sinker” offer Hard Rock sensibilities with great hooks and pounding riffs, while “We Don’t Need Them Here” and “Damn Nation” have a NWOBHM flavor with a dash of Thrash. Meanwhile, “You Don’t Walk Alone” has almost an AOR feel. Every song manages to deliver big hooks, and soaring vocals while offering a lot of variety. The end result remains a cohesive and very listenable unit. Even track one, the obligatory instrumental intro track titled “A New Pandora” dovetails nicely into “Hands Of Time”.

Each of the 12 tracks on Pride has a unique quality to it, and fans of Power Metal, Hard Rock, NWOBHM, Melodic Rock and even AOR would find it worth their time to check it out. The digipak version includes a second disc of live material that was not included for review, but fans of The Unity should definitely pick up this next step in the evolution of the band.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
