Behind The Mask I is the debut album from Brazilian Prog Metal band Vikram. The record took more than 7 years to produce and is part of a multimedia release that includes a novelization of the concept of the album, a game, and songbooks and sample pack for producers. Behind The Mask I is the first in a trilogy, and conceptually is the story of Nathanael Frost, an “immortal” who crosses the world and the centuries to the meaning of his existence. If that sounds heavy, you should hear the music. Vikram’s style of Progressive Metal, infused with heavy eastern and oriental influences, is unique and very enjoyable.

Featuring vocalist Guilherme de Siervi, who’s vocal range and growling ability mesh well with the dramatic and intense music of the band, Vikram is comprised of world-class musicians, including guitarist Tiago Della Vega, who currently holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s fastest guitarist. Rounding out the lineup are keyboardist Tiago Zunino, bassist G. Morazza, and drummer Marcus Dotta, each of who have a list of accomplishments and awards under their belts.

Behind The Mask I is well-produced, filled with excellent performances by stellar musicians, and loaded with very well written and impressive songs. A definite must listen for fans of Progressive Metal, Heavy Metal, Epic Metal, and Metal in general.

Stevie was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio. He is currently the lead guitarist for Melodic Rock band Red Reign, based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
