Eye On The Sky is the second full length record from Finnish Melodic Metal band Stargazery.  Originally released in 2011, this reissued version features a bonus track, “Rescue Me”, but it doesn’t quite meet the production quality of the rest of the record.  Eye On The Sky has a big, wide sound that isn’t quite there on the bonus track.  That, said, the rest of the record is very good.  Former MSG vocalist Jari Tiura’s vocals are very strong, calling to mind David Coverdale, Tony Martin, and even a splash of Ronnie James Dio.

The songs are well written and well produced.   With Pete Ahonen on guitar, Jukka Jokikokko on bass, Jussi Ontero on drums, and Marco Sneck on keyboard rounding out the lineup (although whether this is the line up on the 2011 record is unclear), the record is filled with spot on performances, with the exception of an occasional questionable guitar solo.  The keyboards are tastefully done, without softening the band too much.  Fans of AOR, Melodic Rock, Melodic Metal, and even Epic Metal will find something to enjoy on Eye In The Sky.  Definitely worth a listen.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
