DEVIL’S GUN – Sing For The Chaos

Sing For The Chaos is the latest release from Swedish Heavy Metal band Devil’s Gun. Formed in 2012 in Vaxjo, the current lineup includes Jaokim Hermansson, vocals; Philip Nilsson, guitar; Jonaton Lavesson, guitar; Fredrik Johansson, drums; and Oliver Emanualsson, bass. Clearly very influenced by the NWOBHM, Devil’s Gun has an undeniable Accept influence. Sing For The Chaos has just 9 songs, and clocks in at 33 minutes.

Overall, decently produced, riff laden songs, with nothing spectacular. The vocals are a bit too loud, and suffer from some pitch issues. The lead guitar is very basic, almost rudimentary, and mostly uninteresting. The drums are solid but just bit buried in the mix. The debut single, “Lights Out” is easily the strongest song, and despite the above mentioned issues, is a decent listen. Anyone who includes a song named “Alligator Fuckhouse”, a 40 Year Old Virgin reference, gets a few points. But that’s not enough to propel Sing For The Chaos into “must have” status. Accept fans, and NWOBHM fans may enjoy this record. Worth a listen for Hard Rock, Heavy Metal fans.
