Take Your Medicine is the second EP released by Oxford, England based Hard Rock band Hell’s Gazelles. Hell’s Gazelles style is punctuated by heavy, groovy riffs, and dynamic vocals that call to mind Jackyl and the Bullet Boys. The up and coming 4 piece band, consisting of vocalist, Cole Bryant, guitarist Nath Digman, bassist Rikard Ridemark and drummer Luke Evans has already made a mark on the UK Hard Rock scene, playing with a number of touring bands, and at some major festivals.

Take Your Medicine starts off its five song sonic blitzkrieg with some Hendrix-esqe feedback, and launches right into “Give Me Something”, a hard driving bluesy rocker with a nice big hooky chorus. Every song has Blues Rock swagger to spare, and Bryant’s vocal range is impressive. The production is raw and underproduced, and the guitars are all too loud, just like a Rock and Roll record should be.

Solid songwriting, solid performances, with the exception of some lackluster lead guitar work, make Take Your Medicine a worthwhile listen for fans of Blues Rock, Hard Rock, and Melodic Rock.

Stevie was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio. He is currently the lead guitarist for Melodic Rock band Red Reign, based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
