Texas based rockers Three Lane Road have upped their game with the release of their self-titled 6 track EP. Three Lane Road joins the pack of modern day Hard Rock / Hair Metal albums, along with releases from bands like H.E.A.T., Crash Diet, Eclipse and Santa Cruz. While the songs and production here are strong, some awkward vocal lines and rather forced sounding lyrics prevent most of these songs from achieving the catchiness that more successful groups of this genre capture. With more songs and a bit of refinement, Three Lane Road could present fans with a nice full-length release, and although this EP is still worth a listen, it’s not going to go down in the history books of Hard Rock.

Highlights include “I’ll Fly With You” and “Dreams”.
