This Week’s Guest DJs: NiteRain!

Their debut album “Crossfire” came out in November 2013, and received brilliant reviews. It was produced by Ronni Le Tekrø (TNT), and later remixed by Bjørn Erik Pedersen (Studio Whiteroom)

The band is influenced by many different artists. The blues-based rock from the 70’s, and 80s is prominent, and artists such as Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, GnR, and LA Guns could be mentioned among many others. In 2011 they were picked out as the support act for LA Guns Scandinavia tour. This resulted in another invitation for a full European tour in 2012, which turned out to be a success for the band. NiteRain has also opened for other well-established bands such as Steel Panther(US), TNT(Nor), and Sebastian Bach(US)

In 2014 they visited Los Angeles, and played a variety of clubs. Headlining at famous Whisky a Go Go was one of the highlights, and the band did also several interviews with the music magazines and TV. In summer 2015, NiteRain returned to Hollywood playing the CrueFest festival.

They also entered the scene at the Fort East of Tons of Rock Festival 2015 in Norway. Touring in Sweden, Italy, Norway and Germany were successful in 2015, with sold out shows. They were offered a spot on the mighty Rocklahoma Festival 2016 in the US, and also played Norway Rock Festival 2016. NiteRain won Sweden Rock band competition 2016, in strong competition with great bands from all over the world!

Successful shows from the summer of 2016, led to inquiries in the music magazine, Gaffa, where the band also won an informal poll among readers, as the most entertaining live band.

NiteRain released their second album, Vendetta, in November. We’ll spin 6 tracks off the album after the show!

Tune in at 15:00 and 21:00 CET/ 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. EST this Friday to hear the show!

In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of his time. Is it worth it...? "Most times, yes," Stig says. "My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express Radio part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right..."
