Bay-area, California thrashers Testament are back at it with their 11th album entitled Brotherhood Of The Snake, which believe it or not is a “concept” release of sorts. Mostly what it is, though, is punch-in-the-face Thrash like the good Lord intended it to be … fast, aggressive, nasty, and powerful. Diehard fans of the band will get much of what they’ve gotten in the past without disappointment, but therein lies the only weakness in this album … which is some semblance of diversity.

Unless you listen closely, you might be hard pressed to know when one track ends and the next begins. Not to confuse the issue … there’s plenty of outstanding musicianship on display to admire within Brotherhood Of The Snake and Testament waves the Thrash flag as well or better than any band. But, unless you intend to bang your head to the same tempo, beat, and lyrical patterns for (give or take) an hour each time you listen, then you may just find this album tires after a few spins.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
