Heavenwood hails from Portugal, and The Tarot Of The Bohemians – Part 1 is their 5th album.  The band labels themselves as “Occult Emotive Metal” … a pretty cool self-depiction, eh?  What this translates to is a mix between Progressive, Death, and Black Metal … which sometimes works extraordinarily well, and at other times does not.  If anything, Heavenwood proves they are unafraid to take chances with their music.  Such practices result in a product that indeed is “different”, however, while this out-of-the-box eclecticism can be a source of attraction to this band for some, it will inevitably be a complete turn-off for others.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
