Carsten “Lizard” Schulz is a vocalist/songwriter who has navigated through the trenches of the German Hard Rock scene, and his namesaked Syndicate is releasing his first solo record – a 16-track double CD at that.  There are many guest musicians playing on this debut, all contributing to create a Classic Hard Rock vibe in the vein of bands like Thunder and Deep Purple.  When Schulz is on, he’s great, but this album has more than its fair share of ho-hum tracks as well.  The Day The Earth Stopped Turning is a solid effort, but falls short of qualifying as a supernova

Dan is a former partner at Metal Express Radio, and also served as a reviewer, photographer and interviewer on occasions. Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
