CAIN’S OFFERING – Stormcrow

Cain’s Offering is a quasi-supergroup predominantly comprised of members from Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius, making for a “best from Finland” release entitled Stormcrow.  The band was actually formed in 2008 and their debut release, Gather The Faithful, came out in 2009.  With busy schedules abound for both feeder bands, it took 6 years and a contract from Frontiers to issue Stormcrow.  Overall, the music soundscape is a lighter, partly Progressive flavor of Power Metal.  The tracks are catchy, melodic, and “smooth”.  If you’re a fan of Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, or Melodic Progressive Power Metal, this release is worth checking out.
