Unreal is a new band out of Argentina and The Raven is their first extended EP release. The founder of the band is vocalist Cas, and his vision with this record was to add personality and musical dimension to a number of thriller/horror stories (e.g., The Raven, The Pit & The Pendulum, etc.). Musically, Unreal is rather varied … they can be considered a Progressive Metal band that incorporates Goth/Horror, Symphonic, and Power Metal elements. The blend is interesting and original, but Cas’ vocal style tends to cause the music to play second fiddle, making for an average end product.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
