Divine Ascension is a female-fronted band out of Australia, and Liberator is their sophomore release.  The band is a bit difficult to pinpoint stylistically – by and large they are a Progressive Metal outfit, but there are Symphonic, Melodic, Power, and Epic qualities to their music as well.  Jennifer Borg fronts the band, and she has a very soothing, if not hypnotic voice.  Her vocal style works well at the beginning of the album, but tends to get tiresome as the album moves along, causing the album to become repetitive sounding, if not “boring.”  There’s plenty better in this subgenre …
