Divine Ascension is a female-fronted band out of Australia, and Liberator is their sophomore release.  The band is a bit difficult to pinpoint stylistically – by and large they are a Progressive Metal outfit, but there are Symphonic, Melodic, Power, and Epic qualities to their music as well.  Jennifer Borg fronts the band, and she has a very soothing, if not hypnotic voice.  Her vocal style works well at the beginning of the album, but tends to get tiresome as the album moves along, causing the album to become repetitive sounding, if not “boring.”  There’s plenty better in this subgenre …

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
