Mire is a Progressive Metal band from Montreal, Canada, and Inward Outward is their debut release. The Progressive Metal movement has been “quiet” lately … there’s plenty of activity in its subgenres (e.g., Progressive Power Metal, Progressive Death Metal, etc.), but straight Progressive Metal has taken a back seat on the “trendy” chart these days. “True” Progressive Metal fans of Tool and Porcupine Tree will be happy to know another band of that ilk has entered the arena. Mire certainly demonstrates great potential, but unfortunately Inward Outward fails to offer anything that can be deemed overly innovative or progressively creative.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
