Steel Prophet is an Epic Power Metal band from the USA that formed in the ‘80s, and finally issued their debut full length album in 1995, entitled The Goddess Principle. After numerous subsequent releases, the band has decided to remaster and rerelease that debut album here in 2014 via the Pure Steel Records label. The sound of the band can best be described as a mix between Fates Warning and Iron Maiden, with occasional galloping riffs. This was an influential album back in 1995, but by today’s standards the production is still subpar, and the songs marginally interesting at best.
Dan is a former partner at Metal Express Radio, and also served as a reviewer, photographer and interviewer on occasions. Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
