Lunar Explosion is Progressive Power Metal band from Italy that incorporates Neoclassical elements into their music. Comprised of youngsters to the Metal arena, Lunar Explosion has already made a name for themselves in Progressive circles, and has enjoyed exposure via touring as an opening act for a number of well-known bands. Their self-titled debut shows tons of promise musically, and incorporates both technical expertise along with non-conventional instrument use nicely, however, Raffaele Smaldone (the voice) is both too prominent in the mix and comes through off key on the high notes way too often, making this an overall average release.

His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
