Fate is a Danish Melodic Rock/Melodic Hard Rock band that’s been around at various times for a span in excess of 28 years, and If Not For The Devil is their latest incarnation. The album starts out with “Reaping”, and shows signs of Fate delving more into Melodic Hard Rock than the more subdued Melodic Rock genre. However (and unfortunately), that’s where the true impressive work within If Not For The Devil ends. The album, though enjoyable, seems to delve more and more into bland Melodic Rock as the ensuing tracks unfold, making the overall product just slightly above average.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
