Black Hawk is a Melodic Metal band from Germany that originally formed in 1981, but they disbanded due to never landing a recording contract.  Black Hawk reformed in 2001, and have since been very active in the studio, with A Mighty Metal Axe being their 5th release.  Although the title may lead you to believe this is a cheesy Epic Metal album, A Mighty Metal Axe is chock full of high quality Melodic Metal.  The album’s 12 tracks all find a way to rock while maintaining rhythmic catchiness.  There are few frills to be found here; rather, just great music.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
