Powerworld is a German-based Melodic Power Metal band (meaning they are less frenetic in their playing style than what you may be accustomed to when you think of Power Metal). Their release, Cybersteria, is a concept album whereby the “artificial environment” created by humans gets out of control and knows all of our secrets, thus manipulating and enslaving the minds of humankind. The concept is nothing original, but the music with Cybersteria is. Plenty of quality and catchy musicianship to found, and vocalist Michael Bormann does a commendable job in delivering the message. Fear not, let Cybersteria take control.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
