Udo Dirkschneider’s U.D.O. is at it again with the release of Steelhammer.  Certain musicians who had success in the ‘80s did so simply because they had molten metal rolling through their veins 24/7, and Dirkschneider certainly tops that list.  U.D.O. continues to belt out quality fist-pumping Metal that energizes a weary soul more effectively than a 6-pack of 5-hour energy drinks.  Other than a cumbersome Symphonic-based ballad (huh?), Steelhammer contains 13 rockers that feature great leads and catchy lyrics delivered in a way only Dirkschneider can:  filled with passion and on the verge at any moment of a cerebral aneurysm!

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
