Torgeir was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio. After hearing Malmsteen's "Vengeance" on a guitar mag CD at the age of 12 or 13, he began doing hopeless interpretations of Yngwie licks and it just took off from there. After shorter stints at other zines he was snatched to Metal Express Radio in 2003. Alongside Yngwie, Savatage, WASP, Symphony X, Blind Guardian, Emperor, Arch Enemy, In Flames, Opeth, Motörhead, Manowar, and Queensrÿche are a quick list of musical faves. Torgeir is also guitarist in the Heavy/Prog/Thrash outfit Sarpedon.

C-187 – Collision

August 31, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
A vast amount of the reviews this album gets will probably start with a listing of the participants, their musical curriculum vitaes, and the quite radical change in style they’ve all gone through. Oh so …READ MORE

CIRCUS MAXIMUS – Isolate

August 31, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
To say that the road of Norwegian Progressive Metallers Circus Maximus has been an overly long and stomach-achingly winding one would be a mild exaggeration. Ever since the release of their debut The 1st Chapter, …READ MORE

SYMPHONY X – Paradise Lost

June 26, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
Beginning with Damnation Game in 1995 (the debut wasn’t really that much to speak of, was it??) Symphony X has released a string of Prog Metal albums, which have built the band a reputation as …READ MORE

KAMELOT / TRIOSPHERE (Live)

May 20, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
Triosphere’s debut album, Onwards, received good reviews after its release last year (perhaps handed out too generously?), and the band have also built themselves a reputation as a very solid live act after touring with …READ MORE

With a very cool new album just released, Blackie Lawless &. Co. had chosen Oslo for the last gig on what actually was a real Norwegian tour; the band played Bergen, Stavanger, Kristiansand, Trondheim, and …READ MORE

MAYHEM – Ordo Ad Chao

April 24, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
Madman Atilla Csihar (also of Tormentor, Aborym, ex-Keep of Kalessin) is now taking over the mic for his second stint with the band Mayhem. The line-up is otherwise the same as it has been for …READ MORE

JON OLIVA’S PAIN (LIVE)

April 13, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
It’s a damn shame, but the Oslo audience has reached a level of pickiness that easily borders on arrogance –- and living legend Jon Oliva only managed to attract somewhere around 150 fans this Thursday …READ MORE

HOLLOW HAZE – Hollow Haze

April 1, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
Being the new band of guitarist Nick Savio (ex. White Skull) and singer Dan Keying (ex. Cydonia), you’d probably expect Hollow Haze’s music to be a mix of Heavy/Prog Metal influences, and that is right …READ MORE

CHRIS CAFFERY – Pins And Needles

March 23, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
Chris Caffery, formerly of the brilliant band Savatage and the brilliantly underrated band Doctor Butcher, has written and/or co-written some of the coolest Heavy Metal riffs ever. His debut solo effort, the two-disc monster Faces/God …READ MORE

March 13, 2007 Torgeir P. Krokfjord Leave a comment
Led by a Peter Steele in tip-top shape, New York’s darkest are back with another serving of their trademark black, sticky stew. This time fans get a total of 10 songs with a running time …READ MORE
