Metalcore band Mugshot are set to release their second full length album entitled All The Devils Are Here on June 27th. The band’s frontman Ringo Waterman spoke with Metal Express Radio about their upcoming album, their busy touring schedule, the maturity of the band, and more. Check out the chat below!

Metal Express Radio: Your band, Mugshot, are set to release their second album entitled All The Devils Are Here on June 27th, what can you tell fans about the upcoming album?

Waterman: I think this is definitely our best work to date. It incorporates all the things we like and the things that makes Mugshot the band we are. You’ll hear a new take on the sound we’ve been shaping over the last four years with our last two EPs.

MER: How was the writing and recording process having this being your band’s second album?

Waterman: All the music we’ve released prior to this record has been self produced and mixed by our drummer, so this record is the first time we’ve had any outside influence or help. Randy LeBoeuf absolutely knocked it out of the park on the production and really helped take things to a new level. It was really exciting to work with someone as pro as Randy and having Will Putney mix it really set this apart and took it to the next level.

MER: You just finished a tour with Fit For An Autopsy, as well as playing the Welcome To Rockville festival, how was the tour for you and your band mates?

Waterman: It was awesome! We’re used to doing longer tours so doing a couple short runs was refreshing and I think we’re already really ready to get out and do a full US. Playing Welcome to Rockville was surreal too because it was our first time playing a fest of that size and sharing our stage with a bunch of friends was really nice.

MER: You’ll soon be touring with Orthodox, what are your expectations on your upcoming tour?

Waterman: I think Orthodox and us are both releasing our best work up to this point and the two support bands, Fromjoy and Omerta, are incredible bands and have a really fresh and unique sound so I expect this tour to be a lot of fun and bring out a lot of fans.

MER: What do you see as plans for you and your band after the tour with Orthodox?

Waterman: We’re just gonna try to stay on the road as much as possible and promote the new record! We’re playing Louder Than Life Festival and then we just got an offer for another tour right after that that I can’t talk about right now, but it’s gonna be really really cool and it’s with a band we all admire a lot.

MER: Who do you hope to tour with and why?

Waterman: I think there are obvious ones like Knocked Loose who are obviously a huge inspiration, are absolutely crushing it and are incredibly supportive of the scene. But we also just love touring with friends and making new friends! Sunami, Peeling Flesh and Bodysnatcher are examples of bands we haven’t gotten to tour with but have made friends in and would love to get to hang out with them for a whole tour!

MER: How would you compare playing a large open air festival, such as Welcome To Rockville, to playing a club?

Waterman: The energy is totally different. We love playing a packed club show and watching people get rowdy and mosh and stage dive, but playing a big open air festival is undeniably cool and makes you feel like a rockstar haha.

MER: Is there anywhere you hope to play live and why?

Waterman: We’re dying to get back to Europe because we had an incredible time over there and love the culture and vibe. We would also love to play Japan as soon as possible because that’s been a bucket list place to visit and the music scene looks insane out there.

MER: How would you compare your band in the present, to the time when you released your first album?

Waterman: We are entirely different. We have new members, a new sound, new aesthetic, everything. I’m proud of what we did since we were teenagers in high school when we put out that first album, but we have definitely matured and leveled up a lot since then and I’m excited for what’s in store!
