Danish Prog Metal band Third Eye return from a 13 year break since their last release, with a powerful new album titled Vengeance Fulfilled on No Dust Records. Since 2010’s Recipe For Disaster, the band has made several lineup changes, namely maestro Tiago Masseti stepping in replacing Per Johansson on the vocals.

About the Album

Vengeance Fulfilled comes in at just over 61 minutes on CD, and will also be coming out on a 2 disk vinyl set this summer. The album contains 10 songs of super tight, very heavy Prog Metal with some occasional growls to accent the superb voice of Tiago Masseti. As you’d expect with any decent Prog Metal band, the players are all quite excellent, from the fantastic rhythm section of Martin Damgaard on drums and Andreas Schumannon the bass, to the slick guitar work of Michael Bodin (who also does great keyboards) and Jonas Hansen. Thanks to Nicklas Sonne at Sonne Studios, the record has a great mix that makes listening a true pleasure.

Final Notes

The bottom line is that Third Eye are back with a really strong album that deserves a listen, and fans of Beyond Twilight, ARK, Anubis Gate and Symphony X will all be loving it. As a long time Prog Metal Fan (let alone Prog Rock fan going way back), this reviewer found more than enough gems on Vengeance Fulfilled to make it worth adding to the collection.

From the day he purchased his first album (Machine Head by Deep Purple), he has had a passion for heavy music, which has influenced his whole life. Bryce is from the great Pacific Northwest in USA, and has played in metal bands like Babylon, Holy Terror, The Wild Dogs, Warhead and Egypt through the 80s. He had his first interview for the Portland, Oregon publication The Rock Rag with guitarist Paul Gilbert in his Racer X days. Then he was honored to get to have drinks, and talk for an hour with the legendary Dan McCafferty of Nazareth for his second interview. In 2013, he spent an amazing hour talking to Andi Deris of Helloween, which was the high point of his heavy metal journalism.   In the year 2001, he formed Man in Black Music Publishing. They released recordings by several local bands, and in the spirit of the old Metal Massacre compilations, he created a 2-album series called The Defenders of Metal. The albums featured classic styled Metal bands from all around the world, with bands from Australia to England, and from Argentina to Russia. Currently, he is the producer/creator/vocalist of the Metal band The Black Tuesdays.
