Orgy

Los Angelos rock band Orgy have big plans for this year. The band will continue to release new singles along with taking part in the Revival Tour. Orgy’s frontman Jay Gordon took the time to talk with Metal Express Radio about when to expect a new album from the band, the upcoming Revival Tour, the band’s longevity, and more. Check out the chat below!

Metal Express Radio: The band will be taking part in the upcoming Revival Tour, what are your expectations on the upcoming shows?

Gordon: Well let’s face it we are just now finally making our way out of the dark ages and entering the post pandemic era so who knows. People have been through so much bull shit, I’m just happy to be performing live again so not much to say on having any expectations. Hopefully people will be as excited as we are to come play for them.

MER: Any particular date on the tour that you and the band are looking forward to playing the most?

Gordon: Yes every single one of the dates currently on the schedule.

MER: The band will be releasing a new single in April, what can you tell fans about the band’s upcoming single?

Gordon: I’m pretty sure we will be releasing a new track in April called ‘Shady AF’ and as a general rule no matter what I think I can say about any of the songs I write, people definitely draw their own conclusions of what the songs are about, & I always love that and wouldn’t have it any other way. I tend to write about people that are around me or things I notice in people who move here from out of town. At least a little bit anyways.

MER: How would you compare the bands latest single “Karma Kastles” to the band’s other material?

Gordon: It’s all different to me, it’s heavy and melodic and has some great moments in my opinion .
MER: Do you think fans can expect to see a new album from Orgy this year?

Gordon: Definitely yes!

MER: What do you see plans for the band after the Revival Tour?

Gordon: More touring as singles come out. Hopefully people will latch on to the new songs and wanna see the band perform them and we can’t wait.

MER: Out of all the band’s albums, what is one you would suggest to a new fan and why?

Gordon: I love the older material but I guess I would tell them to check out the newer stuff cause it’s new. Different band different vibes.

MER: Since the band’s debut album in 1998, what have been some of your favorite memories playing music?

Gordon: Playing live all over the world is my favorite thing about being in a band. Different cultures languages and people. That motivates me and I love to engage with fans from all over the world.

MER: With the band going strong for over 20 years, what have you seen as the key to the band’s longevity?

Gordon: We are stubborn AF and just won’t go away. Haha. We gotta keep going cause we don’t know how to do anything else. We do but playing music is everyone in the band’s favorite life hack, lol.
