Prins Svart is the debut CD from Stockholm, Sweden’s Prins Svart. The band originally began as a Led Zeppelin tribute band in the 90’s and that influence is very prevalent throughout Prins Svart. Along with some evident Rainbow and Deep Purple influence as well. Comprised of 4 seasoned veteran musicians, vocalist Stefan Berggren, guitarist Henrik Bergqvist, bassist Tomas Torberg, and drummer Sebastian Sippola decided to reform Prins Svart and pursue their love of 70s influenced classic rock.

Prins Svart contains just 7 songs, but each is much longer than the traditional 3:30 radio edit, ranging in length from 4:07 to over 6 minutes, still giving the listener about 45 minutes of music. The production is a little raw, perhaps to try and capture a more 70s flavor, and the influences of the 70s greats is so prevalent at times, it’s almost a copycat. For example, track 2, “Jag Sparade Ingenting For Vagen Tillbacks” contains a part that is so similar to “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin that is surpasses the concept of influence. The performances are solid, and despite the lyrics being in Swedish, the melodies are very singable. Fans of Classic Rock should check out Prins Svart.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
