Damnation Angels are a Symphonic Metal band out of the U.K. and The Valiant Fire is their 2nd full-length release. Against the trend most Symphonic Metal bands follow these days, Damnation Angels are NOT fronted by an operatic female vocalist. You’ll likely find the vocals of Per Fredrik (from Norway) refreshing. He has a very listenable voice and impressive range (when he wants), and the emotion he exudes throughout The Valiant Fire is both believable and well-placed. Some of the songs are a bit more “epic” than necessary and contain some wadding, but overall the Damnation Angels have delivered solidly.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
