Godyva is an Italian female-fronted Symphonic Metal band, and interestingly, they self-characterize Alien Heart as “Intimate Romantic Metal”. As with many Symphonic Metal bands, the production quality is excellent, and the musicianship is certainly impressive. Lady Godyva delivers a quality, seductive, soothing performance, which makes this album intriguing and an easy listen. The band goes “light” on the Symphonics, so even if orchestrations and mood-setting keyboards aren’t your thing, Alien Heart may still belong in your CD collection. This isn’t an album that’ll wear out a groove, but when “you’re in the mood,” Alien Heart may indeed come in handy.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
