From being an interesting power metal band with a bright future, these Italians are now trapped in German speed metal like so many others. German speed metal can be good, but then it requires more quality than this. The drums don’t sound good, and the new singer is not at all up there with Fabio Lione, who sang on the last album “A New Religion?” However, the guitar playing is skillful, but in the long run, that doesn’t make an overall good record. The lyrical concept does not give me sleepless nights. Noise and Modern Music is now in the hands of Sanctuary, but if Athena is one of the bands the Brits will give top priority, I will be surprised.
