BEFORE THEY CALLED IT HEAVY METAL - FEATURED ARTIST:
BLACK SABBATH and their 1970 monumental album PARANOID!!!
Black Sabbath's self-titled debut was such a success that the record company wanted the band back in the studio to record a follow-up just 4 months later! The titletrack (perhaps Sabbath's biggest all time hit) was written and recorded in about 25 minutes when Butler & Iommi realized they didn't have enough material to fill an entire album! Something to be said about just "going with it" when a good thing falls into place.
There are some mega-hits on this release, including "Iron Man," "Faries Wear Boots," "War Pigs," and the title track "Paranoid". We'll feature Side 1 of the album during the early airing, and Side 2 during the late airing!

It was so extreme him leaving that we didn't have a plan. We just went ahead. It was actually kinda strange the way it happened. We just decided "well, you know, this is the best band we've ever been in. We really love playing with each other. Let's just try to keep it going. We may fail after one record we may not even get one record out. Let's go as far as we can 'cause we don't really know where to go.
