Wintergarden is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Miriam and Blake Gardner from Denmark, and The New Victorian is their official debut full-length release. Wintergarden’s brand of “Metal” can best be described as lightly Progressive – it’s not complicated, focusing predominantly on Miriam’s vocals. Miriam doesn’t come through with operatic “power” like many of her female vocalist contemporaries, but she performs well nonetheless, and sings often in a semi-distressed (if not haunting) manner, which causes a bit of mystique to surround Wintergarden. If you like female-fronted bands, then you’ll likely find The New Victorian to be a solid, entertaining album.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
