Never one to rest on his haunches, Udo Dirkschneider is at it again with a new release entitled Decadent.  The one thing you’ve got to credit U.D.O. for is relentless loyalty to the Traditional Metal soundscape.  The unfortunate drawback of that loyalty is U.D.O. albums can sometimes be accused of lacking originality and of playing it “too safe.”  However, for fans of pure-breed Traditional Metal, it’s a sure bet that you’re going to at least like something you hear – if not everything – with any given U.D.O. record.  Decadent follows the Traditional Metal march accordingly, but certainly isn’t U.D.O.’s best work.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
