CRAZY LIXX – Thrill of the Bite

Thrill of the Bite (2025) is the eighth studio album by Swedish hair metal band Crazy Lixx; the name should’ve been an easy giveaway to what type of music they play. As the follow-up to Street Lethal (2021), the album contains everything that makes Crazy Lixx who they are: a fun, party band who loves ‘80s hard rock music. The driving force behind the band has always been founder, main songwriter, and frontman Danny Rexon, whose passion for the music is undeniable. For those who aren’t familiar with their music, Crazy Lixx literally sounds like a band from the ‘80s hair metal era who could’ve easily fit in with the likes of Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, Poison, Ratt, and Def Leppard. Another thing to note is Rexon sounds like a mix between Jon Bon Jovi from Bon Jovi and Joe Elliott from Def Leppard, adding to the ’80s hard rock feel even more. Sticking to Their Guns The album kicks off with “Highway Hurricane,” a frantic, yet polished, rocker that’s meant for blasting down the highway, no pun intended. The production is big and bombastic, which the same can be said for all of the songs on Thrill of the Bite. “Little Miss Dangerous” is cheesy, over-the-top, and sleazy as heck. It’s a track that encourages listeners to forget about politics and all the other unnecessary nonsense for six minutes and just enjoy some bloody old rock ‘n’ roll (maybe some strippers, too). “Recipe for Revolution” has a great groove and an anthemic feel to unite misfits once and for all. “Run Run Wild” is the ‘80s sleaze rock equivalent to Chuck Berry’s “Run Rudolph Run,” except the former isn’t a Christmas song. Is it because “run” is in the song title twice? Maybe, but it’s a fun song and …READ MORE

CHEZ KANE – Chez Kane

The Backstory Danny Rexon is the front man for the Swedish Glam Metal act Crazy Lixx. Recently Danny was charged with scouting and producing new talent for Frontiers Music. Rexon felt what the music world was missing right now was an ’80s style, strong and confident woman that wasn’t afraid to tell and like it is, but also with the vulnerability to share her emotions and fears. The heyday for that kind of music had passed with Pat Benatar, Robin Beck, Vixen, Chrissy Steel, and Saraya. Enter Chez Kane. Chez Kane is one of three sisters that head up the U.K.-based Melodic Rock group Kane’d. Not only was Chez throwing it down live with her band, but she was also laying down some killer vocal takes on her favorite ’80s tunes on her YouTube page. That’s where Rexon discovered her. Chez Kane’s self-titled debut was released on March 12, 2021. [Watch our Chez Kane interview HERE] The Album Pulsing keyboards and soft alto sax is sure to take you back to the ’80s on “Better Than Love.” Kane has the cocksure attitude of Pat Benatar, mixed with the smoky pipes of Bonnie Tyler and Taylor Dane. “All Of It” is loaded with fist-pumping power riffs and a simple yet catchy chorus. “Rocket on the Radio” is a car cruising, wind in you hair, sing at the top of your lungs anthem. Although the story revolves around Chez hearing her first song on the radio, it’s an easily relatable track for those that grew up depending on the radio for the newest songs. “Get It On” kicks up the passion as Chez isn’t looking for Mr. Right, but for Mr. Right Now. As much as Kane can get hearts pumping, she can also break them. On “Too Late For Love” Kane …READ MORE

CHEZ KANE: “Because The World Is So Doom And Gloom With A Lot Of Things, I Feel [80s Style Music] Is Very Uplifting”

Living On The Edge Of An ‘80s Heart Crazy Lixx front man Danny Rexon was tasked with scouting and producing new talent for Italian record label Frontiers Music. Rexon’s first discovery was British singer Chez Kane, one of three sisters that make up the hard hitting Melodic Rock band Kane’d. Danny wanted to craft and album for Kane that brought female rockers back to the forefront of the Melodic Rock genre. As Rexon puts it, “A kind of Lee Aaron, Lita Ford, or Robin Beck for the new decade.” Kane embraced the idea because of her love and appreciation for ’80s music. The result is the self-titled debut of Chez Kane. I’ve had a chance to preview the album ahead of its release and I can safely say that for Rexon and Kane, it’s mission accomplished. I had the chance to speak to Chex Kane prior to the album’s release. Highlights include:  Discussion of her debut self-titled album How Danny Rexon (Crazy Lixx) discovered her How she fell in love with ’80s-era music Filming her own music video Her search for a backing band The future of her band Kane’d Meeting her ’80s Rock idols Her favorite & worst gig … and much, much more!
