RING OF FIRE – Battle Of Leningrad

Ring Of Fire (ROF) are back with a Neoclassical tribute album to the WWII Battle of Leningrad (Russia vs. Nazi Germany). ROF are a true “supergroup,” led by vocalist Mark Boals, guitarist Tony MacAlpine, and keyboardist Vitalij Kuprij… arguably three of the best at their respective trades. Because of the inherent talent, Battle Of Leningrad is one of those albums that you WANT to be great… and there are indeed moments of true greatness musically… but by and large Boals’ story line is cumbersomely weaved into the music, and disappointingly so, the album feels disorganized and uninspired.
